Is it normal that i can never get enough sleep?

Usually I get about 6-8 hours of sleep, most of the time in between. But, when I wake up it feels like I've had less than hour, and I'm insanely tired every morning, and I can barely keep my eyes open. Is this normal?

To anyone who is always tired- do you strenuously exercise 3-4 times a week? I too am always tired and have read exercising regularly helps. It's g
hard initially because you don't have the energy to exercise but if you push past that you feel better in the ling run. I'm getting a gym membership in a month to see if that helps. Also a change in diet could help.

I used to be able to sleep for 12 hours at a time and still be tired when I woke up. Then I found out I had an underactive thyroid. You should probably see your doctor in case it's something that can be treated!

Do you stay tired? I you're just tired when you get up it's normal. If you remain sleepy throughout the day then you should see someone.

Maybe you should talk to your dr. Sounds like you're on a good sleep schedule and shouldn't be that tired.

Im always tired, no matter how much I sleep, I think its from too much sex. Or lack of vitamins. Who knows?

  • If you feel like that, take a day off, and sleep til about 10.30 am, wake up, eat, wash, then go back to sleep for a nap at 2.00 pm, wake up at about 5.00 pm, eat then watch tv then go back to sleep real early and then see how you feel. You might feel and sleep a bit better throughout the week. Do you drink alot of tea and coffee? The caffeine in that may cause to feel tired the next day because the caffeine kept you awake? x

    Good Luck!

I think it's normal since you sleep so little, try get more sleep, not just one time, maybe a week, then see if you are tierd ;)

I agree with the above comments. Stress and/or depression can make you feel that way. If it is just that you feel unrested when you wake up but if you feel like you don't want to get out of bed that is potentially something more. If it isn't depression drugs and alcohol can also cause the se effects. For example, pot can and will inhibit REM sleep when used frequently.

I find I can sleep for ages and still wake up tired. My doctor said it was most likely stress related, so its normal, just try to relax a bit more.
