Is it normal that i bury dead birds that i find?

I don't go out looking for dead birds, obviously, but if i find one i always bury it. i'm asking this now because i found a dead finch in my bird feeder and it is going to be the third dead bird i've buried. i know it's dangerous to touch dead animals especially if you don't know how they died but i know that i will be in a terrible place mentally if i don't bury them. is it okay that i do this?

I've done that before. I buried a injured little bird that we found out in the garden a few years back in Las Vegas.

I've done that before. You don't have to touch them. just pick them up with a small garden trowel.

I'd argue that, while arguably not common, it's perfectly normal.

When we say goodbye to the people, pets and possessions that had an emotional impact upon us, we often enact some form of ritual or ceremony. It's both a way of showing respect and of exercising compassion.

There's also an important process of catharsis at work too.

Wild animals deserve our respect and compassion too, so I don't think you're out of bounds in extending a similar farewell ritual to them too.

I think it’s a nice thing that you do.
If it makes you feel relieved and able to sleep, then it’s fine.
I think you just really care about birds, or animals in general.

I leave them for the scavengers out there in the wild. If it was a deer and I see it get hit, maybe go see if it had some scavengable parts I could use. Antlers usually, but if the organs weren't ruptured some fresh cuts would do nicely.

Wow, your quite the angel snowflake aren't you? Do you expect animal rights hoes on isitnormal to bow down and worship you or what mate? You've got better things to do than bury dead birds! Why don't you work on your education or maybe take up knitting?

it's not about having something better to do, to me it's about giving a bird that lost its life a respectful burial like any creature deserves. i get it if you disagree or think it's pointless, you're entitled to your opinion, but you don't have to be rude.

Whatever plugs your arse I guess? You post something weird like this in this site your going to get people like me to tell you what they think. My advice for you mate, would be don't take anything to personal. Feel free to bury birds, it won't bother me one bit.
