Is it normal that i brush my teeth until my gums bleed?

I'm VERY OCD (which I do take meds for- 150 mg of Zoloft a day), and hygiene is a huge compulsion of mine. You know when your teeth are slightly grimy and you can feel it when you run your tongue over your teeth? I LOATHE that feeling. So I brush my teeth 2-3 times a day with Crest whitening something and Arm & Hammer. I brush for about 5-10 minutes, and I am not truly satisfied until my gums are bleeding, because then I know I have brushed enough. Is this normal?

My brother once did something like that and for the whole next day his taste buds were numb. Like he couldn't taste anything except butter. I suggest you stop and just brush two minutes twice a day like a normal person. O.o

First of all, you are brushing too long, 15 mins is not normal for anybody to brush. I mean.... how clean does you want your teeth to be. Unless you have OCD.
