Is it normal that i both hate and love america?

On one hand, I hate America because of the fact that merely being an American means that I'm pretty much going to be looked down on by most Europeans. We're a country based off of false freedom, and all that. But at the same time, I'd hate living anywhere else. I'd feel fake anywhere else. I'm an American, and I'm both proud and ashamed. Is this normal?

There's things to love and hate about every country, including European ones.

I am a traveler and have always embraced this lifestyle, so when I think of myself I think more in terms of me as being a citizen of the world, and as my race being human, rather than in terms of ethnicity. The fact that I have lived in different countries and have triple citizenship helps. One of them is American, and I understand perfectly well what it is to be ashamed and proud of it at the same time. Unfortunately, in the last 10 years the former has occurred way more than the latter.

Of course it's normal. I think a lot of people (myself included) feel consistently disappointed in a country they would love to be able to love.

I'm American and I'm ashamed of the American government, and the PoS president.

I'm sick of war and high taxes particularly. (Shouldn't really call it war, it's more like picking on 3rd world countries)
