Is it normal that i believe all drugs should be legal?

I believe that every drug known to mankind should be legal. People should be able to take drugs if they want to: Pot, Crack, LSD, whatever as long as they don't involve anyone else. If people want to kill themselves with drugs then that should be legal too (After all, the person is only doing it to his or her body). The Government should have no saying in this.

Some drugs can induce psychosis...This means that these people lose the ability to tell what is real and what is not real....making these people potentially VERY DANGEROUS.

They have no control over this.

Think before you speak...or type. Whatever.

Note to you..."SOME DRUGS". I did not say all drugs. Some drugs are highly HIGHLY addictive. And you can develop a dependence easily. The problem here is just by experimenting a few times you can develop physical and/or psychological addiction. Even if you want to stop it can be very difficult.

I was at the hospital last week and a homeless heroin addict was sharing the room my friend was in and the doctor recognized him. He had gotten an infection from injecting in the same arm over and over and probably with a dirty needle. Legally the hospital is obligated to help this man. They are bound to help this man who spends every penny he has on heroin. Do I believe in helping people? Yes. Do I think this is fair that this man is abusing the system? I'm not sure. I'm glad he's able to get help...but he should really be getting help off of drugs and off the street. But that money instead goes to giving him a hospital bed and a coctail of antibiotics and pain pills.

Its clear that at a certain level these heavier drugs can and do render people helpless due to addiction. Yet, we are obligated pay for these people's addictions. Under the affordable care act...now we will all be paying. I'm not bashing universal healthcare at all here. I'm just pointing out a flaw. I point out this flaw because it will be exploited more and more if we legalize all drugs. Easier access to drugs means more addicts. Plain and simple. It may not be an exponential number but there will be more.

Is doing drugs that important in your life that its holding you back? I believe its quite the contrary. People want to "escape". They want to numb their feelings. They would be better by learning how to understand their feelings and learning to cope instead of leaning on controlled substances to take on their issues for them.

I've done drugs and drank plenty of alcohol. However, I don't do any drugs now and will occasionally have a drink or two, but I would never let it rule me. Some people aren't capable of that.

but see the most important point is that the legalisation of all drugs means that every criminal who makes money from drugs goes out of business. and you say addicts are dangerous, true. but gang violence is far more dangerous.

That doesn't directly answer my question.

I think it should be legal too but with a lot of constraints so it's more difficult to get, e.g. illegal to possess and buy until you're 21, limits to how much a person can possess, etc.
It'd certainly cut down the violence involved in the current illegal drug trade and save all that money used in the war on drugs.

I personally also believe there should be gradual constraints on purchasing alcohol as well.

well said. alcohol is too far gone. a lot of money there. it's unfortunate but alcohol is embedded in our culture, our economy.

many places would lose a lot of business over the limitations. wineries, bars, breweries. more complicated shit too would go out the window I bet, not to mention the stock market. I dunno, i'm talking out of my ass here. i'm no economist.

Whilst I do agree with you there are some drugs that really do bring out the worst in people (Crack as one example)

As long as you can use your drugs without hurting anyone but yourself i agree with you, but as soon as you act out on others we are talking about something entirely different.

On the same note, Alcohol brings out the worst in some people and yet this is legal.

I'd say that Pot,LSD and E is WAY better than alcohol.

I wonder where that dude is now...

Haha, well ... if drugs were legal and sold at a drugstore people would at least know what they were getting.

damn straight. because people are going to do drug if they're legal or not so we might as well ensure the safe usage of these drugs.

            Exactly my point.
Tax it as well and everyone would profit from this!

I heavily doubt it would be nearly as pricey as it's illegal out on the streets.

            Comment Hidden ( show )
  • No. All drugs should not be legal.

OP clearly has no idea what he/she is talking about.

Many drugs are far too addictive and dangerous to be legal and plentiful.

Some problems are people don't only hurt themselves they hurt others and society.

Another problem are the ones that hurt themselves become a drain on society which hurts society even if they don't directly mean to.

I bet I could go score some crack at walmart or mcdonalds in about 15 minutes today.

Who cares if it's legal? The law has not exactly stopped folks from partaking.

Start selling crack or meth at any store in your town I guarantee it gets robbed every night. I think it should be legal, it's more complicated than just selling it over the counter. Have you not seen anyone tweaked out on dope? It's not cool.

damn straight. I never smoke weed and then go in public. partially because I get lazy as hell but seriously it's just inappropriate though.

strangely even if i'm not that high my body shows the symptoms. I've had people patronize me and like give me baby talk when I was barely stoned. apparently I looked blitzed but I felt normal and serious at the time.

my girlfriend on the other hand her eyes almost never go red. and she goes into public high almost every day. she could be ripped and you might not even notice. she smokes the most weed right before she goes to work too. says it helps her get through the day. (painkiller as well as time goes faster.) but i'm the exact opposite. might as well save this plant which is price is worth more than gold per ounce until after work when you can relax and enjoy it alone or with family and friends.

Sure, just make sure to tell people they come with some uncomfortable side effects and can be hazardous to Your health so they can make the choice whether or not they want to play the game of chance. Failure to do so can keep them illegal.

Only drug that should be legalised is weed, anyway, person on drugs can be dangerous to people around him, which defeats your reason for making these drugs legal..

but the gangsters that smuggle and sell the drugs can be more dangerous than crazy people.

i'd rather deal with a lunatic than a nigga with a gun. I've had enough drug dealers try to rob me. and I've had the cops actually rob me twice.

so fuck that the only victim of the drug trade are the victims of the smugglers and dealers and the victims of the law it's self. all drugs should be legalised for the sake of human liberty. it's not right to penalise these helpless addicts while we could be providing them safe materials and a safe environment to stop the spread of disease, mostly AIDS amongst heroin addicts.
instead our countries spend gargantuan amounts of money and effort enforcing unfair laws which promote organized crime.

Of course not. Some drugs are extremely dangerous. Imagine a someone buying loads of drugs and then offering them to young, uninformed schoolchildren, lying to them that they are sweets, and then making them sick or worse, killing them. This would become widespread all over if all drugs were freely available to purchase.

Yeah I know someone's going to argue with this viewpoint but whatever =/

Who the fuck would spend all that money just to give them to kids? Never heard anyone do that lol, if someone was going to do that it would've happened already. I don't see how making them legal would cause this.

there would probably be some crazy people at some point in time. doesn't matter though if someone wanted to do that they still could only buy the drugs illegally. in some places it's really easy to find.

or hell if you're out to murder them why not just use poison MUCH cheaper than drugs.

That's what I'm saying, if someone was going to drug kids for fun it would already be happening, making them legal wouldn't cause that.
