Is it normal that i became depressed after seeing avatar?

After seeing avatar for the first time i couldnt believe how good it was, i ended up seeing it in theaters at least six more times and for a couple weeks after seeing it i started becoming a little depressed and wishing i lived like in the movie, i started dreaming of being in it and i couldnt stop thinking about it. did anyone else feel this way after seeing it? or am i crazy and obsessed with the movie?

What's depressing is that you saw it six more times in the theater. What, are you rich or just stupid? No wonder you're depressed.

I don't think it's "normal", but you certainly aren't the only one. There are many websites and message boards dedicated to people who wish Pandora was real and can't stop thinking about it after seeing Avatar

  • Here's the way I see it. You were content with your life before the movie, right? So why be upset now just because it could be better? Everything could be better. My sight could be better. But it still doesn't change the fact that it's fine as is. I suggest taking a look at your life as is; what you like about it, what you hate about it, not some movie & how you wish your life was like that. When I watched Full Metal Alchemist, I sometimes wished I could use alchemy. But I wasn't depressed b/c I have a computer & live in a universe that's more fascinating than I could possibly imagine. That and it's fiction. Dude, you just got to see what's probably your fav movie 6 times. Think about that for a sec. You saw a movie you love 6 times. That's not not depressing. That's awesome at best, boring at worst.

Or, maybe you realized that most humans really are a bunch of nasty assclowns and that's quite a disappointing realization to have to make.

Yeah Jake made me jealous because he got to escape our world without dying. Pandora looks like so much fun, it turns into like a huge putting edge at night. (putting edge is a glow in the dark miniature golf place)

They actually did several news stories about people having the same effect. So normal. It only bored me.

Me too. I didn't see it until it came out on DVD but every time I see it I get these feelings of longing that I can't really explain. I've never visited a fan site for the movie so I don't really know what others feel or say about it.
And I'm not the most environmental person around but the phrase "they killed their mother" goes through my head ALL the time.
