Is it normal that i back away from him?

I am going to soccer camp with my soccer team which happens to be an all boys team and I am the only girl... There is this guy who is a year older than me and he is a total goof ball and he always does weird things. I kinda like him and sometimes, when he is just being weird, he tries to hug me and creep me out.
Is it normal that I back away?

    I get it's just a reaction I do that all the time I'm very picky about who touches me or hugs me but he kinda creeps u out so it's normal to back away
