im so scared of butterflies my friends kept laughing at me for this reason and i tried to face it but i can't, like if i saw butterfly rn i would immediately run and hide.
Butterflies are totally harmless. They do not and cannot bite. They have a very long skinny tongue they use to get nectar from flowers. A lot of people have phobias about something. The best idea is desensitizing. Have someone that understands start with very small moths and work your way up.
Are you forgetting about the venomous ones with fangs that stowed away in a shipment of bananas and are now spreading across the globe?
I was scared of a lot of bugs (but not butterflies) for most of my life. That was until I moved out to a hot, grasshopper filled country area. You're right about desensitization.
I am scared of butterflies and so is my aunt, sister, mom, dad, grandma, and all my cousins. So it is normal no matter what others say!

I can see why, but they are completely and utterly harmless. I once held a butterfly and I had a weird red stain on my finger once it flew off, my brother kept on telling me that I had been poisoned. But even if I was poisoned I lived bitch.
I love butterflies but hate moths, especially the big ones. Also loathe spiders.

Thanks, I'm not really the nudist type, and I probably said it mostly for shock value. There are a lot of scary things in the world, but butterflies? Being afraid of butterflies is like being afraid of beauty itself. Anyway, I of course don't mind butterflies landing on me.
I have a fear of months. Once when I was younger I freaked out about a big mouth flying in our basement, still haunts me today. But for me I can handle smaller butterflies like monarchs. That size of butterfly or smaller is fine. But once we had a feild trio when I was young and we went into a place we’re we got to feed butterflies and they would land on us. They huge blue butterflies freaked me out.
