Is it normal that i am psuedo-nesting as a non-pregnant teenager

I'm a young adult that still lives at home with my parents(I have no desire/intention of leaving before I am through college). I, like a close friend of mine, are having these very strong urges to buy things like cups and other dishes, as well as an assortment of home essentials like towels, bedding, silverware, and pictures and things to hang on walls. Neither of us are pregnant or in any sort of relationship. I was just wondering if this is normal behavior.

  • I see housewares and get the intense urge to buy them even though I live with my parents as well. Half of me is ready to leave and buy my own things, things as mundane as plates, but it would be rather a waste of money to buy all of those things now.

I found the title of this post amusing. "I am a not pregnant teenager who lives with her parents. Anyways, is it normal I like buying dishes?" Hahahaha.

"I am a single white female who enjoys the Jonas Brothers and a good glass of chocolate milk. Anyways, is it normal I want to buy some fancy cups?" Haahaha! Whew. That is quite funny to me!

I read that as, "I see housewives and get the intense urge to buy them even though I live with my parents."

      :P

You want to buy stuff you like.
    It's normal.

Get yourself a nice cedar chest to put the stuff in if you want. I remember a long time ago cedar chests used to be called hope chests for that very reason.

Why don't you and your friend get a place? Not only would you be learning independence but, you'll have somewhere to put the stuff you have bought.

Why don't you just move in with your friend? They could be your house mate.
