Is it normal that i am prideful/grateful for my disorder?

I am narcoleptic (sleep disorder), and when I was first diagnosed I didn't really mind it too much. I knew I would have some difficulty but I wasn't emotionally depressed over it. Eventually over time I became quite fond of it and now I am glad I have it.

I told my friend how I feel and she said it was weird and it was a narcissistic thing to think...

is it normal that I am grateful for my weakness?

That's the thing with narcolepsy, I am always tired.
I can get 15 hours of sleep, and I will still be tired in the day.

Yeah, it is normal. After all, you and I can fall asleep at boring things (accident or on purpose) and people can't blame us. :)

Woah! This is the first time I've met another person with narcolepsy.

It doesn't make you weak. You just get a lot of sleep. :D
