Is it normal that i am not speaking to my sister yet

My sister, who is 4 years younger than me, recently planned an out of town trip this past weekend for me and my bridesmaids to search for my wedding dress. I am recently engaged and my sister, who is my maid of honor, has been very involved with and excited about the wedding plans. I did find a dress and the rest of the day was spent celebrating. One of bridesmaids, my sister and I booked a hotel for the night and we were to come home the next morning. My bridesmaid and I had ridden with my sister in her car. During the night, my sister and I got into an argument about some past family issues, and she ended up yelling at me, telling me how she really felt about me: that I am a selfish and angry person and she is sick and tired of hearing all about me, etc. I was beside myself and did not know what to say or do, so I went into the hallway of the hotel to cool down. When I came back, I discovered that she had left me and my bridesmaid and driven back to our city, over an hour away. My fiancé had to come pick us up. I don't know of I should have her in my wedding even. More hurt than mad.

I have one sister who we all despise! However, I had her in my wedding and don't regret it. It's a very stressful time but it's better to be the bigger person, so that you don't continue to feed her resentment by cutting her out of it.

It's normal for sisters to fight - she probably didn't mean the things she was saying. She was just lashing out and trying to hurt you.

You will get over it eventually - and even look back and laugh at this someday :o)

    It made me laugh :o)

Thanks so much for your comments. It makes me glad I posted this. I normally have an easy time making my decisions without advice but this was one of the most out of nowhere things that has ever happened to me! I appreciate the honesty. If I'm wrong, I want to know I'm wrong.

Your sister sounds like she is harboring a lot of anger at you but I think it is more a mirroring of her issues than you personally. What she did was shitty and it's acceptable for you to not talk to her. It's up to you if you want to remove her from the wedding.
