I am in love with a cartoon named 2d, lead singer of gorillaz, i just dont know what to do.I have never had a boyfriend, the only one i want is him. i have dreams about him. i love him!
First of all it is actually possible to fall in love with objects an other things that will never love you back. In fact in japan many men say that they are in love with anime girls printed on their pillows (not kidding).
However I do not believe this is healthy.
Just hang in there A guy wicone around and you will forget all about 2D.

heh heh heh llooll i went thru this last summer. i was crazy for flapjack from cartoon network. i would get SO FREAKIN JEALOUS when he & Sally Syrup would talk to each other with hearts in their eyes. GAH.

I can understand a tiny bit, when a character in a show i like gets killed off i feel awful for days after....

Ohmygosh, i totally cant believe this, ive never heard anyone else feel the same way about him that i do... I have been in love with him for a few years. Just so much about him i cant say, i know he isnt perfect, but so sweet and lost, and unique. well the list goes on. It started out with me just loving the band i was around 13, then i kinda found him attractive and then it grew more and more until i knew everything about him and its weird, evertime i shut my eyes i seemed to convince myself we were together :s after a couple years of this, i realised it was getting out of hand. i was crying over him a LOT. it was taking place of my relationship with God, so i made the decision to block gorillaz out of my life.
A few years later, 18,19 years old now and i get all my old gorillaz stuff outta the loft. well, that was a mistake, as soon as i saw. His face again i realised my feelings hadnt gone, just lain dormant! its kinda worse now though because his storys sadder and i hate seeing him unhappy >< so yeah, im 20 years old and im a human that struggles like any orher. God is the most imortant to me, but im trying to work through this with his help this time instead of tryin to do it alone, coz thats when humans always fail!! Im trying to understand where this fits in with his plan. But its hard, its like with anyone you love but cant be with, you know deep down the only thing to do is avoid them, but a part of you clings on, an addiction almost. In any true love i guess feelings will always be there, but we can move on with our lives and learn to be happy, for me , i believe Christ can complete us but i respect others beliefs. So is it normal to be IN LOVE with a cartoon? In comparison to the ratio of people who dont, then No, but do others feel this way? Yes. Can you get through it? Yes, but you have to see you have a part to play too. Nobody should ever knock anyone down for how they feel. Go ahead and slate me, i know that God loves us all no matter how we feel :) im attracted to cartoons, so what?! :)

I love James from Team Rocket in Pokémon. It makes me happy when I think of him. I feel all warm and fuzzy. I have no idea WHY though. It makes me sad when I face reality. Knowing James will never exist :(
First of all hell yeah i love gorillaz :D!!!! and secondly, dont let this consume you, you have to get over it. It will be hard and painful but the reality will sink in that he is not real and you will never feel him or smell him touch him or talk to him. You'll only be hurting yourself if this continues, your making your self crazy and its not healthy. You have to decide when to say goodbye to your obsession properly and move on. Its okay to have a crush on a fictional character but DONT fall in love and make yourself crazy.
I think i understand completely! like whenever Ed, Edd,Eddy ended i was distraought! i think that is how you feel. like! Now that the show iis never goin to air again it breaks my heart because i oved it so much!
hiya bigbig gorillaz fan here - still never bin in love with 2d ya know. In a way he is kinda based on damon albarn who does 2ds singing and songwriting well when he was in blur in the 90s was like the most pretty man ever so you'de probably be better off fancying him seeing as he is real

Hey this probably sounds dumb, but idk how to comment so I'll just answer here. I have the same problem but it's worse...I really like Murdoc. I know it's so weird. I'm like 15 and I feel like maybe you're a teen also, so I guess for now it's normal but it's a bit unhealthy as you set high expectations for who u wanna date therefore making it harder to find a bf one day. But I totally get the feeling.
I have a lot of cartoon crushes, but I'm not, you know, 'in love' with any of them. How can you truly love somebody you've never met, let alone somebody who isn't real? Cartoon crushes are normal, even having dreams about them is normal, but only when you know they can't possibly return your feelings, and you don't consider them as a potential boyfriend. You sound like you have a very unhealthy obsession. Instead of letting yourself think you actually have a future with this character, try to pick out the traits you like about the character-- I don't know the cartoon you are talking about, but is the character brave? Kind? Smart? etc.-- and look for those traits in real guys you know.
that's a serious obssesion girl. i think you need more socialication with REAL people know what i mean? i mean i also want to live in my dream world but i'm not like wishing to be in that world you know. maybe you have problems.. don't worry real guys would be waiting for you.
