Is it normal that i am constantly afraid there are spiders in my ear?

So I have this weird fear that I have spiders in my ears. I check all day long to make sure I don't hear anything crawling around in there. I know logically there probably isn't anything in there, but as soon as I feel a tickle I have to check. It even affects how I sleep because if I don't cover my ears and head I can't stop thinking something will crawl in there while I'm sleeping. Does anyone else have this fear?

chances are that you have already swallowed a few in your sleep so dont worry about them getting in your ear.

Could be worse. Botfly larvae burrow into your skin, grow and hatch inside you then slowly work their way back out through the body tissue. One man got some behind his ear and was kept awake at night by the sound of them burrowing through his flesh.

Do you actually feel spiders or are you a afraid of them being in there? If you are feeling formication, there are many causes for that.

It seems like this irrational fear is starting to take a toll on your daily life. This is the point where I would work to try and nip this in the bud while you can.
