Is it normal that i am being controlled this way?

Even though i am only 18 years old, I havent got the chance to "get away" from my dad.

My guardians control me in the most rediculous ways possible:
-I have people following me everywhere
-i have a curfew of 11:00pm, and if i am not back someone is sent to come get me.
-i have an automated lock on my dorr it can only be locked frm the outside.

there are more but it is too much and "too much", to say.

I am not sure whether or not it is normal, i have grown up being controlled like this. and i feel like I am ready to get away from this, but i can't. I am kind of stuck

    It's not normal, but my mother was this way (and still tries to be even though I'm 21). Are you going to college? If you are, try your VERY hardest to go to a university far enough away from home that you don't have to live at home.

    Escape. I am serious. Unless you are a special security concern, ie famous or a child of a politician or something, afraid of getting kidnapped, then your parents behavior borders on frightening. I would get the fuck away asap,and deal with the fallout, their hurt, anger, whatever, later. You won't even believe how incredible freedom feels.

    For sure, absolutely, not normal. I hope theyre not snooping your internet stuff.

    You need to listen to your guardians and stop trying to rebel. Wtf is wrong with you? THEY LET YOU OUT PAST ELEVEN!!!! What more could you want???!!!

      I am very respectful. I am just confused seeing all the people and their freedom without people riding down the streets after them everyday. Wouldn't you be concerned?

      I do not know who they are, my guardians just hired them. I am not a bad person. So why they make people follow me i do not understand.

    I would say that having controlling parents at age 18 is normal, but the fact that they put an automated lock on the OUTSIDE of your door seems quite unusual. In fact, I don't think that anybody should be locking their children's rooms from the outside at ANY age. It's a fire hazard, it prevents you from going to the bathroom, and depending on your jurisdiction it could equate to being held against your will!

    For starters, I would find somewhere else to stay, if possible with a friend, emergency, or motel if you can afford it, pack your things, and GO ASAP! Find a job, earn some money, and find a new place to live where your parents won't find you.

    Out of curiosity, are you a boy or a girl?

        Alright. Might be easier to find an emergency shelter in your area (women's only).
