Is it normal that i am annoyed by this?

Hi everyone I am super annoyed by the fact that i live with two families in my apartment. I live with my mom here and there's another family. I am a musician and I am extremely annoyed by the amount of noise the other family makes. Do you think its normal or is it me who needs to be more considerate?

The mom is always yelling at her kids, which i suppose to a certain degree is understandable, but it happens from right after school about 4pm until sometimes past 12 am.

And this is every single day. I feel bad because i shouldn't be so arrogant but i feel so limited as to what i can do living with these people. Also for some reason she got her son a piano. I play piano and having him play in the same house is distracting, irritating and annoying to me. Also the other son has an electric guitar and he plays it violently loud.

For all of the above mentioned reasons doing my homework is also impossible. I haven't addressed any of these things directly because my mom said that it's best just to wait until we can move. We were renting the apartment from them because they went to live in another country but they decided to come back and so my mom wasn't with the funds to move out yet again. I find it extremely awkward to have to live with them, even though i do get along with them the amount of noise pollution in the apartment is irritating for someone like me.

So do you think my complaints are legit or should i ease off?

It's normal to be pissed. Some people even go so far as to call the police on noisy neighbours (not that you should). Do you have any friends? Maybe, you could spend time with them for most of the day? That would Give you time to take your mind off of them. You could sound proof your house. Music studios have sound proofing Walls and a natural sound proofing system out of mushrooms has been created. If you can't do that then play music or put on head phones. Something to block out their noise. Don't complain to them or it may make things strained.

Your complaints are valid, but there is nothing much you can do about them until you are able to move out! Are you old enough to be able to move out and get your own place?

    Hi there!

Personally, as a mother with two kids, I kind of understand what she's going through, but in your defence - hearing a family argue is beyond irritating!

Have you ever considered speaking to the neighboues about thos?
Or perhaps wearing soft foam earplugs to drown out the noise?

Apart from that, I guess tolerance plays a big role in this whole drama.

    Good luck!

    xx
