Is it normal that i am afraid of advisories?

I have this weird thing where any televised advisory strikes this odd fear with me.
Weather advisories are pretty mild, but those are understandable. When they use the warning tone on the radio, it really messes with me.
The worst for me, however, is content advisory notices and disclaimers. Especially if they are read. I've gotten over "Due to the graphic nature of this program, viewer discretion is advised." for the most part, but if they go into detail, or if it is a "do not attempt" advisory A-la jackass, I actually start to panic a little. The absolute worst, however, is any advisory that warns against people with a "Nervous disposition." which will pretty much make me change the channel or shut the radio off.
Note that it isn't the content itself I can't handle, just the advisory message.

So anyone else get this at all?

  • well, it's not the content itself that turns me off. there's just something about the advisory that just freaks me out. I can watch video of the most horrific things imaginable, no effect. hear a content advisory, that bothers me. if I wait it out, it doesn't make the actual content worse, either.

  • I don't get why the warning message would put you off, it makes me more curious.
