Is it normal that i always have my shoes untied?

I wear skate shoes that are bar laced (no bow) with a tied knot and loose string-ends. Normally people tuck this stuff into the shoe behind the tongue or under the foot, but I don't.

Thing is, people are always correcting me when i'm in public; that my shoes are untied. They're tied, but I hang the loose shit out of my shoes causing it to sway back and fourth and side to side like a skip-it :) Oh, and i've been doing this for four years and never tripped on em.

I like it, but I dunno... is it normal?

    I remember when I was a little Avril-lavigne-worshiping Punk, Back in grade schoool. She always wore her shoes with Crazy socks, or super loose in the lases, or untied. I did too.. But Luckily by highschool, I grew out of the punk-princess phase. You probably will too.
