Is it normal that i absolutely cannot stand "beeps" on television?

I actually don't like shows or movies that have swearing every other word, but what's even worse is when THEY BEEP every other word. Half of the programs I see on TV have so many beeps you can't understand the script. I almost would just soon hear the cussing. Does anyone else feel the same?

Maybe you have misophonia. It's basically a disease where they can't stand certain sounds. I have misophonia and I really can't stand it when I hear people slurping or the voice of a newscaster/commercial announcer. You might have that but the sound you can't stand is the beeping.

From the way I see it, if they have to bleep anything out, they shouldn't even bother playing it in the first place. I'm sure anyone watching it, including an 8 year old, has heard far worse, anyway..

  • I hate that too but I get used to it after a lot of beeps. It's normal.

I agree. Ever watch Trailer Park Boys? It's MUCH better on DVD than on TV!!!
