Is it normal that he tunes my guitar to drop a?

This is both an "is it legal?", and an "is it normal?" question but answer with what the legal situation is and comment on its normality, please.

We live in a same house and he has boners, I already got used to it. We had fun, recording music, drinking beer. Then he tuned my guitar to drop A. I was gaped, it was cruel to do that when he has his own one (three but one is only here), and I tuned it back to the E standard. Next morning I begun playing and discovered he had tuned it to drop A again.

Problem is that he wants our songs to be played in drop A tuning but I don't. Is it legal for him to molest my guitar so? I'm not courting him if it's illegal but I want to know if it is because my Swedish clearness can't accept it either way.

PS: He isn't Mexican.

    You need to set your guitar and buy the heaviest gauge of strings. Or get a 7 or 8 stringer. you can't just detune from standard E and expect it to sound decent.

    I know a lot of bands from the area that played drop A. This shit be good, my band played drop B and C, just gives you those beautiful face-melting-fucking-armageddon-breakdowns.

    I sold my guitars and rig, but used to have a few for different tunings.

    If your going to tune a guitar to drop A you will need to put on thicker gauge strings. Using E standard strings and dropping it to A with the same strings will make it sound like shit. Tell him to get his own guitar and put heavier gauge strings. I have 2 guitars. One in E standard, and another in drop A. The strings are much thicker on the drop A one (i buy the ones for a 7 string guitar and toss the highest one.)

      ^this. Compromise and buy a low B string, toss the high E and move all the strings up 1. Then tune to B so when he drops to A it still sounds good and you only have to wind one string two semitones to get back.
