I am in my final year in high school. Three weeks ago, I made friends with a German exchange student at the youth club I go to. He goes to my school. I have been chatting to him on facebook almost every day for the past few weeks. Last night he randomly messaged me this really long message and basically told me that he thinks he loves me. I like him quite a lot too. But I'm scared of entering a relationship because I know that it won't end well (he's staying for a year) and I also don't want to be pressurised into anything... Is it normal for a guy to proclaim his feelings so soon? Is it a German thing? What should I do? Please comment!

    I would avoid it. You said he's going away for a year. I think the wisest thing to do is not get caught up and then he'd have to leave. It's gonna hurt pretty bad if you get your feelings involved and then he leaves and you won't see him again.

    Why won't it end well? A dude I went to high school with ended up marrying a Japanese exchange student. They had a fling while she was in our school, stayed in touch after she moved back home, got married maybe a year later.
