to be with someone younger and more attractive? Hes 24 and she's hardly 18... I'm 23 and he ditched me to pursue some kind of weird relationship with her... Is something wrong with me or is this normal? I'm not ugly but this girl is definitely much more attractive than me and much younger as well. I feel like shit because of it... Like is he really that shallow? She is extremely naive and gets sloppy drunk. Why would he want that over me? I might cry.

    It has nothing to do with age as I don't see any difference in 18 or 23 year olds. Maybe she does look better to him, maybe she's just more his type. Maybe he's superficial, we'll never know. But it definitely sounds like he's not interested in something serious and you are so this is probably for the best.

        I mostly meant in appearance. 5 years doesn't age the face or body.

    He did you a very big favor. He sounds immature. Whether or not he found her more attractive doesn't make a difference, he just wanted something new and easy. Even if did find her more attractive there are guys who would find you more attractive, who would also be more mature.

    Sometimes life doesn't work out how you planned; sometimes the people you want to be with don't want to be with you. You'll get over him and move on.
