Is it normal that have panic attacks about everything!

So... I know most people will tell you the first think you need to do is assess your life style and habits.
I was a smoker, a drinker, a floozy, and an over weight mess.
I developed general anxiety disorder (gad) from a mishap when I was 16 and I drank WAY too much coffee. My BPM (heart rate) was 172....at 16!
I ended up with high blood pressure and the dr. said that if I dont change my ways, Id have a heart attack by 23....
I'm 26... smoke free, alcohol free, celibate, vegan, and 118 lbs. I am physically active and obsessively nutritionally conscious.... but I still have panic attacks and I am tired all the time!
What is wrong with me? Am I normal?

Definitely go talk to someone, What happens is your brain functions along with your body. When you see something that scared you, your mind sends alarm signals to your nervous system causing a "fight or flight" response. Your body builds adreniline and stress hormones that alert your body to be able to get you out of the situation. What is happening is even though a particular event or situation isn't scaring you, your mind and body thinks there is. Problem with our brains, is we have a great memory so when you have a panic disorder, your brain gets confused into thinking Panic is a normal event. You need to Meditate!! Try not to take Medication, it just masks the affects of panick and your body isn't able to function normally. I recommend you read a book called "Calm your Anxious Mind" it really helps calm your mind. You just have to remember, your safe, and nothing will harm you. I dont believe your doctor should have told you, you were gonna have a heart attack if you dont calm down. Thats scarry and enough to put someone into panic. What a Jerk. he should have just told you to relax and meditate. Put some calming music on and relax!

my friend has GAD but doesn't always get panic attacks. she gets them maybe once a year.

i think panic attacks can be overcome by rationally sorting out the positive things in your life. look at the bright side :)

I'd recommend seeing a psychiatrist; I've also had GAD and medication has helped a lot. Even if your life situation has improved, your disorder won't necessarily go away--I was actually a perfectly healthy, normal, 22-year-old vegetarian when my anxiety started to take over my life. It sounds like you're on the right track--sometimes you just need a little extra help.

you may be suffering from a version of deppression that would be causing your sllepiness and panic attacks. try staying on a steady schedule and taking 50 mg of melotonin half hour before bed this really helped wit my insomnia and i never feel refreshed in the morn without it. its a natural chemical ur ody makes so it wont hurt you. wit better sleep your panic attacks may decrease. try sorting out th cause and learning to recognize when ur freaking out. work at controlling urself slowly. this is how i got over my panic attacks used to have them every night 2-3 a day now no more than once a month wit no therapist to help me. just learn yourself better

My heart goes out to you. It is not easy to stop having panic attacks. I too have suffered. They are usually stemmed from some horrible event or a series of events. Mine started as a result of childhood abuse. It is a case of trying to change your habit of worrying and negative thoughts. One worry adds to another worry etc and before you know it you are a bag of worry. If you google " social anxiety PDF" you will find an acrobat document that really helped me. You can stop these panic attacks. You can.
