I was watching Bridezilla. And it occurred to me that guys are picking the worst types of women to marry. And cool girls like me get "friend zoned". Are they seeking these evil spawns on purpose?
I always here people say women choose the assholes, now you say men always choose the assholes, hmm methinks neither is true. The truth is there are a lot of assholes out there and they may not have acted like such in the beginning.
This is a reality TV show that you are talking about. Reality TV plays off of the premise that the people that are watching it often lack confidence in their lives and enjoy watching people make clowns of themselves so they can somehow feel "better". Kind of like Moms who want "Dance Moms" and think "I'm a way better Mom than them I would never subject my child to that torment!" or people that watch celebrities fail in life and think "Oh I am so great, I would never do cocaine or fall in love with an asshole".
These shows are not only engineered for entertainment, but to feed the weak ego, too. I'm willing to bet money that the majority of the female audience of this TV show thought, at some point during viewing "These girls are crazy I'm not a bitch like that I would never say that to MY man".
That being said, some guys really like fiery women. They probably had bitches for Moms so they are used to the "strong female", which is what these women are considered.
But most men would rather have a more nurturing female. So no, not normal.

Women are the most guilty for picking assholes, and men do it barely at all compared to how much women do it.

You are most likely being friend zoned by the guy that is "perfect" instead of your level of everything, then friend zoning all the guys that are great for you simply because they aren't perfect.
The second I seen this story name I felt like my head going to explode. How someone could think men are worst for this is amazingly unbelievable.
Reagrdless, thumbs me down ladies. We all know how you don't like to be told that a lot, maybe even most of you go for the assholes rather than the nice guys, even when reality shows this, you go girl, you try and keep that moral high ground regardless if your actual actions betray your words.
Well, I think the aim of the show is to choose the craziest women possible so what you see is no doubt heavily biased. Then again, I'm not going to disagree with you that this is the aim of many men too!
The show is like every other reality TV show out there. By that I mean heavily scripted.
There is probably a good chance all those outbursts and other ridiculous behavior was written in to the give the viewers some "entertainment" or "drama".
Yeah, true. I saw a British show that had been ported to America and then the American version came back and got showed over here. It's not a show I like and I only noticed it because as it started, there was an announcement at the bottom of the screen for literally a quarter of a second (nowhere near long enough to read it) that it caught my eye.
When I recorded it and paused it, it said something like "While this show is presented as fact, the American version may seek to manipulate or engineer certain situations for the sake of entertainment". At least they were honest, I guess. To all the speed-readers out there. :)
I hate crazy women! I always date the sweet ones, and they end up being closet crazy! As my brother said, I find dates by going to the crazy orchard and picking the craziest damned apple on the crazy tree!

Hahaha! There's a reason why that show is called Bridezillas, and probably any girl who goes on that show is a bitch. Don't go by a show like that to make you think that guys always choose the bitch over the cool girl. :p
But honestly, you're probably right. I mean, judging by some of the scenes I see while grocery shopping and such; these men are being slapped around. lol But then I think, it must be stressful at times being in a marriage. Maybe they're just tired. :p
I don't think most women go for the bad boys. I agree that women are the same but I put this up to talk about the men only. Bridezilla is a crappy show anyway but it just gave me the idea that I see this so often.
Hey cool girl , yeah I'm amazed at how some guys will jump through hoops for those bitches,I'd take you any day.
Ahhh but , my new gf , as hot as she is , is shaping up to looking like one of those in the making too. I was so into her. But- it's not looking too good , the moods, patterns, the cracks and smart mouth, just aren't getting any better and I'm not setting myself up for that shit.
I can relate to that and they don't get any better with time unfortunately.
Yeah I know what you mean that's my biggest concern with her. From what I've seen girls or guys for that matter with those tendencies do seem to have some sort of inbuilt chip on their shoulder and true it never seems to leave them does it, I've noticed that too.
Respect is something that is built in and is also nurture by good parenting. Often people (when in love with someone) confuse maturity with a lack of respect. My ex is 25 and serious problems with respecting other people, especially me when I was with her. She would shout, swear, break things, get violent, or generally create hell if something wasn't to her liking. That kind of thing isn't related to maturity - it's related to an in-built sense of respect. You've got to stay away from people like that because they won't ever change. I'd forgive my ex because she was beautiful and funny most of the time, but in the end you realize that it's much better to be with someone who will respect you.
Hey , she sounds like a real sweetheart ! Thankfully mine doesn't chuck any mentals and tantrums. She's pretty good like that actually, and if something wasn't working out she'll say ok what about we do this or that , she's really creative like that. I've thrown few on her actually when she's got me pissed off.
It's more a defensive come guard thing I think but believe me it's understandable after being kicked around since 7 or 8 , just don't know if she'll ever lose it once she trusts me/us , couldn't spend my life dealing with it.
She's pretty good on the respect thing to actually, goes out of her way big time for people she cares about and has a fierce loyalty .
Chances are that those women don't really behave like that. They're being put in front of the cameras, having ego boosting weddings, and are being offered tons of money for the episode. Reality tv can change allot in a person usually for worst. Don't believe everything you see. However, if they really are like that, then I can't see why the male would want them unless he likes to be the "submissive" one in the relationship.
Well why do women choose the asshole guy, even take him back after cheating on them, over the nice guys??
It seems both sexes can be guilty of misconstruing being an asshole (or gigantic bitch) as confident, and as ridiculous as it sounds "sexy" even.
That show is so obnoxious. I only passed by it one day and that was enough for me. They are all stupid cows
Not all men go for women like that. The men that marry crazy, controlling women are weak minded. The same can be said for women who marry men like that. You shouldn't let a show like that get to you. They purposely pick stupid crazy women for that kind of show.
