Is it normal that "first come, first serve" drives me nuts?

The way it is said, "First come, first serve", just doesn't make sense. It should be "servED". Wrong tense is used!

Also can't stand people saying "addicting" instead of "addictive", insisting "Tuesday" is spelt "Teusday", "supposeBLY" instead of "supposedly", etc etc etc!!!

Also can't stand reading a book and it's written in the present tense.

All of these things only brush the surface of my language annoyances. And I hate when I click on a post here and it starts with the word "So".

Am I normal? =)

I thought it was "first come, first served." I've never heard "first come, first serve" but yes, I hadn't heard the use of "tan" or "skim milk" until I went to spend a fornight in America with some friends.
Also, "I could care less" shouldn't it be "I couldn't care less?" at least, that's what I've been saying all my life xD it just sounds better.

I could argue a million of these. Tan instead of tanned. Tan is what you do, tanned is what you become. Skim milk instead of skimmed milk. Skim milk is what you do to make skimmed milk. It's like referring to beef as kill cow or a hot dog as cook sausage. It makes no sense but it's language and language is its own democracy. It changes and you kind of have to accept it, even if it breaks the rules you and I have set for it. We're not the arbiter; the populace is.

When people say "discusting" or "definately"....it irks me.
