Is it normal that everyone thinks i'm racist?
I'm entirely fascinated by Adolf Hitler, when I say that people automatically think I'm racist. But I'm not. I love everyone!

That is stupid.
As far as leadership skills go, Hitler was the man. He pulled Germany out of an economic crisis and became a very well respected public figure.
I'm not saying that I am a fan of this guy, but the man and his works are both fascinating subjects and to say that being fascinated by such a subject is racist is ignorant as hell.
A good leader? Well, there indeed were some good leadership capabilities in him, but I've also heard several times (I watch a LOT of documentaries), that the Allies had plenty of chances to kill him at the end of the war, but chose not to. Why? Because they were afraid he might be replaced by somebody who actually knew what they were doing.
Besides, starting Operation Barbarossa (the attack on the Soviet Union) and declaring war on America in the SAME year (1941), is pretty foolish if you ask me.
The man and his (horrific) works are indeed pretty fascinating though.
I said this recently to someone. "Hitler was a good leader, it doesn't mean I think he's a good man."
(I'm not the OP, just incase you think I am).
He was good at getting people to follow him (though he was really lucky about the timing, since he was able to take power at a time when people were very desperate), but once he actually was a leader, he didn't do so well.
Anyway, I think genocide pretty much automatically disqualifies people from being good leaders.
No question about it. He was a horrible person, no doubt, but he was a fantastic speaker and leader. If ever a man knew how to reunite a nation and then destroy it again, it was Adolf Hitler.
I'll be honest and say, I don't like the guy. But he has played a large part in our history so of course I do read about him a fair bit about him and his influences that can still be felt today.
Interesting fact: The Nazis were the first government who actively discouraged smoking.
Yes we do hate them as much as nazi Germany. Hate is a strong word. I just wish there was something stronger
Adolf Hitler is an interesting person (I'm black!!!). I used to make lots of research on him and read many books about the man. No doubt that he was a great leader. It doesn't mean that i find what he've done great. So I understand when people are fascinated by 'personnage' like him
I'm interested too, and I'm not a racist. Some people are interested in serial killers. I'm interested in world leaders with an agenda.
I don't think Hitler was a terrible person at all. No one can tell me anything evil he has done that modern politicians and politicians before him haven't. He is hated because he lost the war and the history of the fallen is written by the victor. I think Hitler was an amazing leader, one of a kind, and a great man as well. At least he fought for his people, and not money and capitalism. If you want to see "evil", I suggest googling Pol Pot, Ted Bundy, Stalin, Richard Ramirez, or any of the other truly evil people out there.
Hitler was not evil, or even bad. He was a man with a passion and love for his people and land and those who insulted him and started rumors about him after his death are spineless pigs who are not worthy to polish his boots. I'll bet they felt safe in doing so, I bet it's easy to insult a dead man.
Contrary to popular belief, the original Nazi party did not go after Ethic Groups like Africans. Yet ironically, Neo-nazis do. Perhaps, it is due to the latter group's shenanigans that has caused people to link WW2 enthusiasm and Nazi fascination to racism. This is one of the many reasons why I tend to keep my interests on this subject to myself, because people are bound tools interpret (to misinterpret) and twist things out of proportion the minute they find out something like this. It's a pity.
Hitler was fine until he started the holocaust and killing his opponents.
I remember one time when we were kids we used to joke around and call each other our slaves. We would do something stupid like throw a ball and be like go get that for me my slave! And laugh like it was the funniest thing. There was this black kid in our class and my ball flew off in his direction and I said "Pass the ball to me slave!" And laughed like usual. He gave me a suprised look! And I was not even thinking of the colour of his skin when I said it, but when I thought about it later, I realized he must have thought I was being racist lol It doesn't take much these days...
What about the massacre at Gaza? Or the mass execution of POWs by the Americans during WW2, how about how the Russians raped and murdered 80% of Berlin (civilians) that were women and children? So since you hate the Nazis for the Holocaust (which did happen, but was way blown out of proportion) you also hate American Soldiers, Russian soldiers, Israeli soldiers and all other militaries that have committed war crimes. You hate them as much as Nazi Germany right?
The word racist is so misused it can mean anything. I wish a standard definition could be established so we are talking the same language.
Paradoxically, Americans should be grateful for Hitler. He single handedly caused enough destruction in Europe to cripple it for decades. Meanwhile, the Americans get minimal military losses, take all the credit, and emerge stronger and more popular than ever. They were never invaded, and suffered no civilian losses and zero trauma. By contrast, the Soviets lost 25 million guys and their whole economy.
So basically Hitler did more for America than any other single individual.
A lot of things fascinate me that I don't talk about much. At least a little bit of why you talk about him is because you get a kick out of freaking people out. That doesn't make you racist, but on the other hand, you know it's going to happen, so why do it?
It's like saying your fascinated with the logistics that James Holmes used or any terrorist action. Pay no mind of respect
Well everyone can big him up and respect his leadership skills ect...but why did British radio stations stop playing Gary Glitters music? Because he was a pedophile. He has been dumped in the trash of history and so should Adolf.
