Is it normal that eating meat makes me feel sick?

Ever since I was little I always thought about where they meat came from and it makes me feel sick but I still eat meat because everyone in my family does and I want to be normal.most of the time I can forgot about the thoughts in my head and just look at meat as food and enjoy it but sometimes it really gets to me and it's hard to accept that it's normal to enjoy eating dead animals.it just seems wrong but I still try to push it to the back of my mind because I don't want to be seem fussy. Is this normal?

It makes my stomach hurt and sometimes I've nearly vomited!

I've been eating the meatless varieties, but those aren't really healthy either. But at less, I don't get remind of what die for it.

The last few times I had meat, I started thinking in a existential way and how the animal died for this "meat". How it must of felt when it was killed and whether or not it knew about its impending death? It gives me a bit of a guilt trip and then I think about how many animals are killed in this country for the purpose of man. Which then makes me think how many are killed in the world: every second, every hour, every day, and so on. The number must be ridiculously high.

I've never really been a fan of meat. My immediate family has learned that this is how I am. My relatives in the south, think I have some "problems", because of my great dislike for meat.

Do you like fish? The last I checked, fish aren't killed in such violent terms compared to most "farm animals". Does your family eat vegetables? You don't have to eat meat with every meal. You can subtly try to balance it off. Eat fish with vegetables and grains. Eat fruit and dairy for breakfast. Something with protein, but also a balance of other nutrients.

People are strange. So, what if you don't like meat? That's normal. Shame on your family for making you feel bad. You shouldn't have to pretend to be what you aren't. When it comes down to it, be yourself. If they have a problem with it, than tell to fuck off.

    Good Luck!

You should find out your blood type - that can have a lot to do with it!

I didn' have that feeling all my life, but started getting it soon after my 15th birthday. I became vegetarian two months later and it felt much better, I was proud of it and it wasn't an inconvience, even though the rest of my family ate meat.

Oh stop, everything that was born was made to die. Me, you, and the thousands of farm animals we eat. No point in fretting over death because every living creature must face it, why throw out those juicy flanks just because they died?

If you don't want to eat meat that's fine. However you should also look into where EVERYTHING you use or consume comes from.

Meat is easy because you can *see* the meat.

However animals are killed for many things you CAN'T see too.

    - vegetable harvesting. animals get caught up in the machinery and discarded. you just don't see them in your veggies so they're easy to overlook.

    - um cows. the list of cows are used for is pretty insane. it even includes toothpaste, mouthwash, medicines... It's just easy to overlook because you don't see a cow in your mouthwash. but it was killed and processed for "Glycerin mist".

    Read that

Remember I'm not saying you should eat meat.
I'm just saying you should KNOW what goes into EVERYTHING you use, not just what's on your dinner plate.

However compared to the other things you've mentioned, meat is very easy to cut out of your diet. Just because it's too difficult to completely avoid products made from animals doesn't mean you should give up on consuming fewer. I'm vegetarian and it's very easy with very few inconveniences, even though the rest of my family eat meat.

i never said you should or shouldn't eat meat.

i'm just pointing out that many people IGNORE other cases of animal death because they can't see it.

i mean cows still die for your toothpaste whether you eat meat or not. People just ignore it because they don't see the dead cow, they just see a nice pretty tube of tooth paste.

But it's necessery to use tooth paste to stay healthy. It's not necessery to eat meat.

Actually no it's not. You can make your own tooth paste with baking soda and vinegar.

People just use store-bought paste because it's easier.

Which supports MY point. People don't see meat in the tooth paste so they ignore the dead cows, or try to make up reasons why it's OK for tooth paste but not OK to eat.

it's still a dead cow. Whether it's in your tube of tooth paste or a tasty meal on your plate
