Is it normal that classical music makes me incredibly happy?

Whenever I listen to classical music, it stop thinking about all the other crap that's out. I'm not even going to type it out. I love violin and piano, they're beautiful instruments. My favorite composer is Yiruma, but I also love Mozart and Beethoven, the classics. But classical music is literally the only thing that can make me smile and cry, be happy and sad at the same time. It's wonderful. Is it normal that I practically live for this genre of music?

Sometimes it makes me sad rather than happy! I love Bach's cello suites...

I could not agree more. The music people listen to in this modern world is just complete garbage. I listen to classical quite frequently. It is very calming and easy to the ears. There is just too uch modern pop garbage out there today that americans these das do not know what music truly is. Keep listening to classical music. It is the only decent music out there these days.

Yes!!! That's so normal. Classical music, just like any music is actually really awesome to the people who love it. Even researchers and scientists are now proving that music can trigger a human response of releasing dopamine in the brain. This is the same feel good chemical associated with food, sex, and some addictive drugs. That point in the song when you get those chills, that reprise or bridge that just makes you smile big and bright, is the exact moment that your body releases all of those chemicals. It's like a music orgasm practically! It's even believed now that people can become addicted to music. Although, I don't think it'd be a necessarily bad thing. The only negative is if people play their music really loud or use headphones all the time. Otherwise, you're not hurting your lungs, veins, liver, heart, or brain like with other drugs.

Everyone has a favorite genre. I adore classical myself, but I still have other genres that I listen to. But if the other ones just don't do it for you, it's totally fine to just like classical.:)

Hey so I took a look and that is what the music is supposed to do it is supposed to make you feel happy or sad; even angry art times so embrace that

It depends on the specific piece.
You get some classical music that sets a sadder mood by use of a slower tempo and minor keys or scales.

Anyway, two of my favourites are:
    *Pachelbel's Canon in D major

    *Vivaldi's The Four Seasons

Classical music is very important to me. Like you, piano and violin are my choices. Definitely Beethoven and Mozart (two geniuses) but my favourite is probably Chopin or Massenet.

  • I love going on long drives listening to classical.

After ten years of playing classical piano, I switched to jazz to learn something new. It was tough! I have tiny hands, even for a woman. Trying to slam down on those massive chords for a entire year left me with permanent nerve damage on the sides of my baby fingers. I gave up. I'll stick to classical.

Of course it's normal. Classical music is a wonderful genre. I don't listen to it a whole lot myself, but I appreciate it none the less.
