Is it normal that cemeteries never get full

I have never seen a Cemetery close because it was full....Have You???

    Vacancy or not, they're pretty creepy places. I've heard people are dying to get in them! :-)

    Lucky cemetery you have there.
    Actually in my country, we have apartments. They are stacked above the first unlucky dead, with a towering maximum of 5 coffins high.

        Well in the one I saw back home, ... I would not want to know what state the coffins were in to be honest, considering how bad the stones were.

        Many tombstones and statues were broken - both by age and vandalism. Metal nameplates had been stolen for scrap. Some grave markers were even completely obscured by plants.

        There were also some areas you couldn't get to via car due to the rough terrain.

    ofcourse they get full this is actually a massive problem in the western world right now. People are being advised to opt for cremation rather than burial. I know for a fact the in my home town old graves (1800's etc) are having the head stones removed and used as the paths around the cemetary! obviously the bodies and coffins have fully decomposed. they are now re-using the grave sites for "newer" ... corpses.

    In my country we have a rule to remove old corpses after 100 years each time to get place for new ones. I think that must be the reason that cementeries never gets full.

    Yes, lots of them are full around here. Many around here are quite old. One very old one bought adjoining land when it was full, so they have more space for now...There's also lots of private cemeteries here. They are small, very small, and most of them are full.

    yes i have seen a full cemetary, they had to make a new one. so there is the old one and the new one. also i have read that in some places they bury people standing up!
