Is it normal that care more about animals than people?

I'll be honest, my life experiences have left me emotionless. USMC infantry with tours in the middle east. Alcoholic, bipolar Vietnam vet father, the list goes on. My issue is that I cant connect on an emotional level with people. I have no issue whatsoever forming bonds with animals and to be honest prefer there company. Am I crazy?

Tommythecat is a prime example of why you probably can't connect with people.

People are conniving, they say things they don't mean, they're selfish, self serving creatures with no regard for anything other than personal gain. They're volatile, untrustworthy, judgmental, destructive and vile.

Animals don't judge, they don't talk aimlessly about unimportant drivel. Everything they do, every move they make, has a purpose. They are easy to read because they do not operate on a level of deceit. They are trustworthy, they are my equals. I love animals more than I love people. I have Asperger's and have always been the "animal kid", making friends with wild and domestic animals. I don't make excuses; I value many animals' lives over human lives. I would save the life of my dog before I saved the life of a stranger. This is how I think, this is what I believe, and I have life experience that has provided this belief system for me. Human life is not fixed at a superior value; we are no greater than any other species in my opinion.

    • Everything you said is just common sense and obvious.

    • I would post a long answer myself, just because of my love for animals and the time I spend volunteering to save them, but this covers all of it.

Excuse me, but go fuck yourself. Who are you to blindly judge me. You don't know me and based of a single paragraph you think I'm lying. Why can't you not be an idiot and just answer the question instead of making attacks on me personally.

      • They are not personal attacks, it just sounds like over-exaggerated bull. And it most certainly is, otherwise you would not be so stupid as to ask about it on a fucking internet site. Go to a fucking professional if it's true, you fucking retard. I didn't support the war, i'd grab this keyboard and beat you to death with it cause that's what you deserve.

          • Because people that fight in defense of their country ie; world war 2 are brave and doing what needs to be done. The fuck heads that went to the middle east can go jump of a fucking bridge. Like how most of the world didn't agree with the invasion of Iraq for good reason. It's like throwing a puppy in a river, diving in and saving it and then calling yourself a hero. I have no respect for people who die for oil and kill others in the process.

You do realize that he has no choice in what he does right? Blame the U.S. not the individuals that were following orders. 95% of our troops don't want to be there any more than you want them there. I believe I am directly quoting my friend in saying

"I roast in the hot sun, freeze at night, get shot at every day, and keep watching my friends get blown to pieces around me. What am I going through all of this hell for? Nothing, we are fighting a war for nothing, accomplishing nothing but death, and I have no choice in the fucking matter" - PFC Jarad Richardson

These soldiers have no choice, they follow orders, or face punishment.

I dont see other animals ( yes humans are animals ) beating up humans just because they can or feel like it which is a big part of why i like them more.
