Is it normal that break-up songs make me feel really sad?

Whenever I hear a song about breaking up with someone, it makes me really sad and I often get close to crying if I'm alone. It makes me think about how bad I'd feel if I ever had to break up with my girlfriend. When I was single I used to really love hearing the pain in break-up songs, but now I'm in a relationship I feel that pain and I don't like it at all.

Is it normal for music to have this much of an effect on me?

How fucking weird....that a song containing sad words would make you feel sad. Totally not normal.

I imagine you must care for her a lot, plus you're insecure. Honestly though, if it makes her feel important, it doesn't matter how you express your love.
Although if she's not comfortable with it, you may want to find another way to express yourself.
As for insecurity, you just have to work at it. Remind yourself that nothing is currently falling apart.
