Is it normal that benadryl makes me delirious?

Whenever I take a normal dosage of benadryl {2} I get really, really out of it. Normally people will feel really tired and drowsy and fall asleep easily, but it's almost like I'm a different person when I take the medicine. I become delusional and think that it's a different day {usually in the past, mostly a month or two before that night} and I can't control my actions and don't remember anything in the morning. Is this normal?

    medicine affects different people in different ways. so yes it is normal. when i take madicine like benadryl or any cough syrup i feel very out of it as well but i just feel very sleepy a word of advice is to experiment with different madicines and see wich ones work for you, thanks

    Of course, it's a drug, most drugs can do that.

    It happens to me. You have to take A LOT to trip on it (8-10 pills), but I used to take it for anxiety and it works GREAT. I ended up taking 7 a day though, and had to quit. Tolerance builds rapidly.

    You CAN get high from Benadryl I'm 6'0 H 160 W I tried and took 500 mg believe me you do trip f**king balls.

    Some people use it recreationally as a deliriant. It is a psychoactive substance, so I am not surprised you feel these effects.

    People process different drugs differently. While it's not *normal* for it to affect you this way because most people don't react in that manner, there's nothing *wrong* with you.

    You know, Advil PM, melatonin, any kind of sleeping aid doesn't work for me. But that Benadryl...Jeeeesus. Knocks me out. I'll sleep for like 8 hours straight no matter what time of day it is, and when I wake up I don't know where I am and I have no idea what time it is.
