Is it normal that atheist organizations are making me mad to the point

Before I start, this isnt a "their atheist so I hate them" thing. I have no problem with atheists. But these atheist societies constantly attacking belife has got me on the edge of buying a sword and declaring another cusade. "50 reasons why god doesnt exist", the atheists trying to stop the cross beam from being put up at the 911 site because it was a testament to a false hope or something similar to that, and just basic intrusions on things that have nothing to do with them. Am I over reacting?

I said that because I dont mean all atheists. I have close friends who are atheist that get what I say, im simply trying to point out that I dont want to generalize them.

I don't agree with people pushing any of their beliefs onto others and the stopping the cross at ground zero is quite disrespectful to the Christian people who died, but you could argue that if they were to put a cross up, they should display other religious symbols, as I doubt 100% of those who died were Christian.

That said, it annoys me that religious organisations are allowed to assert their beliefs against atheism, without consequence, but when it's the other way round it provokes an angry response; atheists are scorned when they put down religious beliefs.

I do see that happen, and see it as the same situation. We should not seek out and attach other belifes, simply promote our own to those who want to hear it. The main reason atheists are so scorned is because they attack EVERY religious belife. So when something happens to, say christians, its not just christians who are rolling their eyes.

Atheism does contradict most religions, but not all, although I take your point.

Buddhism isn't contradicted, as they do not recognise a 'god' or divine entity, as Buddha is said to have been kind of like a guide, who shows people the way to enlightenment.

            And thank you! :D

Yeah, I suppose. I am an atheist and I do, believe it or not, find it annoying when we complain about it to a large extent (which would probably be more like 'ranting') I think every atheist is capable of doing it but just don't know how to control the urge to purge (hey, that rhymed!)their opinions on something. It's hard to explain, but I know what you mean, though.

People can believe what they want, I don't hate anyone just because they're non-believers, I just hate how some of them think people who believe in God are dumb & put us down for our beliefs. No offense, not all atheists are like that, but some.

Agreed ^ how could you begin to care about gods who wouldn't lift a finger to stop planes from crashing into buildings with pregnant mothers and little kids. Either Your gods allowed this to happen and it was part of its great, all knowing plan, or there are no gods. I mean if you could stop 9/11 from happening wouldn't you. Just think you could be more compassionate then the gods themselves. How amazing.

You think god is like some fairy god father? He isnt going to put his finger down because "its not nice, people will get hurt". its a world where we are made to prove ourselves. And while god shows compassion, he must uphold the laws he has set, otherwise how can we? he gave us free will because we demanded it, so he gave it to us, he no longer truley gets in the way of things.

        1) He created the law but he can make exceptions. 2) When did we demand free will? Why is he kept being around the bush by creating us without free will first, and then made us ask for free will? Maybe because he enjoys it when the plane clashed the tower and he can said he's just upholding the law because we asked for free will? But then he created us wanting the free will? Does he enjoy senseless killing? I mean the story gets more and more ridiculous every time a Christian tries to defend God.

It irritates me when people say that. Dont get me confused with some brainwashed christian, for I am not religious, but remember, THERE IS SATAN!! God is letting Satan see who would want to follow him, or follow God, God cannot stop what Satan is causing because of fairness. He hates to see people (his children) die, but he also dislikes when people ALWAYS blame HIM for every bad thing that happens. GROW THE F*** UP PEOPLE!

It would take a miracle to stop a nuke admitedly, but let me point out, the main holders of nukes are crazy ass extremists, not atheists. And rumor has it that obama is a muslim (lol), so what does science really control now? Not the nukes, thats for sure.

And all these religions, will keep us occupied from finding the truth, I'm taking My chance on trusting in the God I know personally, Because when you seek him, you will find him. Don't blame God for 911, that only reveal how wicked Satan is, God said Satan came to steal, kill, and destroy, now why would God stop 911 if he want us to see how Satan kills. GOd loves us all, even unbelievers, so I'm encouraging everybody to just trust him, he created all things.

Ok, everybody GOD is creator of all things, we are spirits, we have souls, and we live in a body, if we do not, repent, and turn from our wicked ways, before we Are absent from the body and present with the lord, if we do not accept Christ, Yes Hell is what we will have chosen for eternity. Just because atheist, and all other Gods exist, doesn't mean God isn't real. No, its not fair that we have to suffer for Adam and eve, but in the same manner , its not fair for Jesus to suffer , for the world sins, but he did. God is a good God , he provided us a way of escape from hell flames, Satan is the father of lies ,and distractions

    So true:

“The WTC cross has become a Christian icon, it has been blessed by so-called holy men and presented as a reminder that their god, who couldn’t be bothered to stop the Muslim terrorists or prevent 3,000 people from being killed in his name, cared only enough to bestow upon us some rubble that resembles a cross. It’s a truly ridiculous assertion.”

Next time, spell half your words correctly and perhaps incorporate a little grammar and punctuation in your paragraph - then I'll be willing to read the shit. The only people that say "it doesn't matter," are the ones that are too dumb to know the difference.

Generally I don't like the fact that a lot of people who are religious are only religious because they have been bought up to believe it is true. This is the same with non-religious people as they hear their parents/friends/people around them criticizing religions so they think that religions must be a lie straight away without thinking about it.

I am more than willing to do that, "servant" (what's in a name) but I'm afraid you wouldn't be able to handle the truth. I guess you're one of these people that believe a supernatural being created the earth and Darwin's theories don't make any sense.

I agree my statement was narrowed down to a slogan, but I guess that's why it's all the more powerful. I stick by what I said though; if people get more educated maybe they will start looking for a scientific explanation, in stead of giving in to their fears and basing their ideas on a book with a set of idiotic rules from 2000 years ago.

Wait, weren't they putting the cross on public grounds, while paying for it with public money? doesn't that act directly oppose the constitution? It sounds more like they are trying to uphold the constitution, than attacking your beliefs. It's not like christians were the only ones who died there.

If the cross comforts people, why not use public money? Same for a jewish star, or a muslim crest. If the public wants it, then its worth public money. The atheists wanted to put up an atom instead, so, why not put up a cross and an atom? then everyone is happy, and your public money has been fairly spent.

Maybe your faith isn't as strong as you like to think. Otherwise, I can't see why it would bother you. At least atheists don't put up symbols of atheism in public spaces.

I am trying to work on my faith, im told i dont truley understand it, and I dont question that. I am more rash than the other people around me about things. And I wouldnt have a problem with atheist putting up symbols to their advances, so long as they act the same to us.
