Is it normal that as an intern i spend 90% of my day doing nothing

I'm an intern for a medium sized company and my boss rarely gives me anything to do. I spend almost 90% of the day sitting at my desk struggling to look busy. I have not done anything wrong and still occasionally get things to do but I can not stand the boredom.

    I work at a software company that configures servers. Im not trying to be lazy I enjoy the days that I have more to do but it seems like most of the projects are under such a tight time schedule they dont want me working on them...oh yeah sorry slinger I dont have "titts" so your no help.

      that's happened to me. sometimes my job didn't fill up my day, yet i had to be ready at a moments notice to work on emergencies. i went to my boss and asked for some projects that could be worked on when i had down time.

    Perhaps you should take the chance to help others around you, or orginize the office. Help make things pleasent. This might leave them with such a positve feeling about you that you score a better job. Go to your boss and volunteer for more work. Sometimes it might be a test to see if you slack by taking the easy way. Don't forget word of mouth is huge! Even if you take additional responsiblities from co workers it could help your standing.
