I have no idea why but, i just cant cuss, unless it counts when you're doing it mentally, but everytime i am around some of my friends, they say "Anonymous, say F***, or A**...etc," and I can never do it. I replace those words with "fraggit, patato, asprine, supercalifragislistexp...."
I read this really great book on some of Sigmund Freud's early cases and he had one man whose mental collapse had completed erased swear words from his mind.
When he wanted to swear, he got increasingly frustrated at being unable to locate the word so he'd use the name of the first item he'd see. In one day, he'd called someone a table, a lamp, and a hatstand. The daft sod!
Yeah, he was out there. He thinks males have a repressed sexual desire to hatstand their own mother.
lol, that made me laugh. I wish the non-swearing guy had been the published psychoanalyst instead of Freud. Students of psychoanalysis would, even today, have to talk about the desire to hatstand your own mother.
I think maybe I'm going to respond to all bestiality/incest stories on IIN with "No! You can't hatstand your father/sister/neighbour's hamster."
It could have been that all his patients were middle aged Viennese women.
The same with me i'm 18 my older brother cusses and my 16 year old brother cusses but for some reason i just can't idk why.
Perhaps, it was how you were raised? My family had this thing about cursing and said it was bad. When I cursed as a child it was like a "forbidden" act and it took many years for me not to see it as a bad thing.
I have a friend who never cusses because when he was growing up his parents always wanted him to watch his mouth. So now at 18 he still doesn't. I remember times we tried to get him too as if it was a funny goal. If you can't bring yourself to do it just don't worry too much about. Not like it's a bad thing.
