Good Morning/Afternoon/Evening good peoples of Is It Normal...

All constructive and helpful responses are very appreciated

I am an 18 yr old Gay Male (seeking men) and I have some (at least what I believe) unusual beliefs... is it normal to want to be pure (no sex) with another man until marriage or just before... the reason I am asking is because this seems to be very very contrary to the behaviors of the gay community currently...I personally believe that sex is a very intimate and personal as well as very special thing that I would only like to share with only one man in a faithful relationship. also is it normal that I want a monogamous (marriage) gay relationship? Also one of my biggest fears is that i don’t know where one would go to find someone like that who also shares my same values.

I'm certain there are more people like you. Though sadly yes, the hook up culture is super popular among the gay community and makes it hard to find someone who wants to get serious.

      Hookup culture/apps are used by heterosexuals just as much as gays. The only difference is that straight men are controlled by the desires of women. If straight mem could have as much sex as they wanted theyd be the biggest sluts. This idea that promiscuity is mainly gay is bullshit. Btw I dont give a shit about the bible.

        I don't agree with the bible either, but heres my argument :
        
        A higher percent of hetero people are christians compared to homo people.
        
        And a good chunk of those christains are strictly against premarital sex and hook ups because the bible says.
        
        So because of these two facts, I think that a higher PERCENT of homosexuals do hook ups and shit than heterosexuals. This is irrelavant to the absolute amount however, because a vast majority of people are straight.

You have you're own morals and values. That's a good thing. I was just talking to a friend of mine, who said there was an article on how now is a "dating apocalypse". Sure, you can find someone to "fuck", but people don't have loving relationships. You'll be fine. Hold you're ground.

It's normal! How you view sex is completely up to you and is mostly a personal preference, regardless of your sexuality. Some people view it as a hobby and others see it as something much more personal. I am more like you, I see it as a very personal thing and could never just sleep with anybody just because.

I think waiting till marriage is dumb, but you aren't talking about that. My concern is this, how do you know you like gay sex? This could be an issue for you. I don't see how you would know your gay enough to marry a dude if you've never had gay sex. I don't have much expirience, but I do know of one gay guy at my school who changed his mind about wanting a gay relationship after having gay sex.

    2 things. First off, I still think waiting till marriage is ill advised. Second off, being straight is the default. Its vastly more common than being gay, thats just a fact. So you can be more certain you'll like straight sex because its actually designed to be a thing. Men were designed to have sex with women and thats why women self lubricate when aroused.

Its good to only want to be with one person but to believe that sex is some kind of pure special thing that one must wait until marriage for is naive and basically christian bullshit propaganda designed to manipulate people through guilt and shame. Sex is nothing more than a biological animal act to propogate the species. Of course as humans we can use it for pleasure only and not to breed. If you dont want to be promiscuous thats great, i too choose not to, but to think its something pure and special is immature and i think youll grow out of it one day. Of course sex can be a way to express love for someone by wanting to make them feel good but its still just sex. To me casual sex feels pointless unless it leads to something more so i dont do it anymore unless i know there is something.

  The reason I believe it’s special has nothing to do with religion for the record... it’s because its (IMO) the most intimate thing i can share with another human being.
