Is it normal that art turns me on?

Like really paintings in a museum, work from my favorite artists, work from artists I've never seen before, not always masterpieces, art with EMOTION I think.

And I'm completely serious, I've heard of people becoming aroused listening to good music (including myself) but NEVER from simply looking at a piece of art.

And it's like a whole out-of-body experience. It's not just physical arousal, I feel... enlightened! I even occasionally start crying while studying artwork. I've never told anyone about the arousal, but I told one person about the crying (I think it's a little easier to digest).

Plus, I tend to hate everyone who claims to be an artist. I don't want to be all "tortured artist" here, but they've never mentioned anything about this sort of experience. :/

WOULD YOU SAY ANY OF THIS IS NORMAL?

I don't think its normal... but yes, art turns me on too. Especially the renaissance! Listen to Beethoven's seventh symphony and look at Salvador Dali's simultaneously... and you might just get an orgasm!

Well, It apparently makes you feel good, it doesn't harm anybody, so just enjoy it and don't bother wondering whether or not it's normal.

hey as long as its not the kind of "art" where old guys like to take pictures of young children, then whatever floats your boat.

maybe the art you are seen is sexual art that may be why it turns you on

Its not common, but cool. Sounds like you would make a great art dealer.

I just had this conversation with my partner the other day. I find that I feel the same way as you when I am painting/drawing. It has to be a piece I am really into and it's enhanced when I listen to music at the same time. I think it's normal.
