Is it normal that anything that has to do with mint makes me gag?

For my whole life, I've hated mint. If anyone is brushing their teeth around me, my eyes tear and I start gagging uncontrollably. It's really embarrassing... anything that has to do with mint, I hate. Even the word. It's hard typing it.

    I dislike fresh mint, mint tea and that mint liqueur. But I like toothpaste, mints and chewing gum :)

    So how do you brush your teeth...? I love mint it's weird, but not necessarily in toothpaste or floss...
