Is it normal that anime has great impact on your life?

Like for example. You think of the events of an anime like you are the main protagonist of that anime and you live in a an anime universe, escaping from reality. Also, you think of anime as a way to be productive the whole day trying to cheer up or something. You also use anime soundtracks to inspire you doing something. And you remember the lines and quotes of the characters and it kinda affects you.

Lmao I watch anime but I'm not obsessed, or a weeb. I only watch like an hour a month anyways

Yes but immediately afterwards real life would feel odd bc it just operates so differently. Definitely takes adjusting. In hindsight I don't regret any of the entertainment anime brought to me, but am glad I left it now. Used to want to live in that realm forever, but now I think this world is quite alright.

I know a lot of people who watch My Little Pony for the same reason, its cheerful and they connect with the characters. Personally its sense of escapism may have something to do with it's popularity.

A good show/movie, a compelling book, or an immersive videogame will allow you to get away from the worlds problems for a while and to help you relax.

I grew up watching it before I knew there was a difference between cartoons and anime. So it's not that big of a deal to me.
