Of course it's not normal. There are cases of precocious pregnancies, but they are hardly the norm - thankfully.
A child that young is not ready, physically, emotionally or mentally, to have a child of their own. It is beyond awful when it happens, particularly as it happens through child abuse.
I know I saw a video on YouTube about a 12-year-old girl whom is pregnant!
Like I said, it happens. I think the youngest child pregnancy was a 5 year old who got pregnant. I can't remember, but I believe she had the baby via caesarean. I can't be bothered to look it up. Google precocious pregnancy/puberty, you'll find it. It's not pleasant reading.
Hope she has a job. She's gonna need to sell a LOT of girl scout cookies. :)
Let's see is an eleven year old girl being pregnant normal? Uuuuummmmm let me think about that...NO!
No.
When this occurs, it is usually due to rape and/or molestation. Most 11 year olds don't know or understand sex well enough to want or have it. Yes, even nowadays.
Why must you even need to ask the normalcy on this? Of course, it isn't normal! Just because someone's body is going through puberty doesn't mean they are ready to become parents. Unfortunately, this seems to be happening a lot nowadays. Did she say exact circumstances which caused her to be pregnant (i.e. Rape, Sexual Abuse, etc.)? You should try to find that out and talk to her on the options with the baby like Abortion or Adoption. Or better yet, it might be best for her to discuss this with a professional like a doctor or some other responsible adult.
The majority of females do not even have periods at that age. So no, pregnancy is not normal at 11. Although it does happen. Some women even give birth in their 50's. While this is possible, it is not "normal".
girls nowadays are getting their periods younger and younger, it's thought to be caused by hormones in the food we eat. There's a girl in the UK who started going through puberty at 4!
But before humans started doping up our food with hormones the average age was between 14 and 18, so in my opinion that's when our bodies are starting to be ready to think of sex :/ not at 11
yeah i kinda agree there. i started developing when i was 8 and got my period when i was 9 even though most of my mates didnt get theirs til they were in their teens. Its such a headfuck at that age when it happens though but since i heard of a few of the juniors at my swimming club getting theirs when they're 11. Its very weird. Ax
I didn't get my period until I was 15 :(
I was the flattest and youngest looking 15 year old girl in my grade. I wish I'd have gotten it at 11, would have saved me years of embarrassment :(
yeah but you'll be fertile longer, if you choose to have babies later in life you possibly won't have to resort to IVF or anything, plus periods SUCK BALLS. If I knew then what I know now I wouldn't have been so excited about it :/
Oh and just picture all your friends going through menopause at 40-45 while you're fine till 45-50 :P
Do they not? I got mine when I was 10. It's worth mentioning that girls can sometimes get pregnant before menstruating, though.
True, and some women still get their period every month while pregnant. This does not indicate "normal".
o-O SERIOUSLY?! (About pregnancy before menstruation, I mean).
My menarche was at the same time as yours, so...
Uh... the majority of girls I know had there period around that age, and are whoring around by 13. So... Just saying, "normal" is circumstantial. "Most" is kind of... regional I want to say, but probably not the right word.
And the majority of women I know got theirs at 12 and 13. The average age is 12 and getting younger in the US. We aren't given the region or socio-economic status of the girl so normal can only be derived on a very general level. Just because it happens, does not make it normal.
Not normal. I'm going to guess that an older guy has taken advantage of this child, either by force of through coercion. It is also a possible sign of bad parenting as well, I mean most parents keep a close eye on their children, seems like someone wasn't watching her close enough.
Alright, his one always gets me. There is nothing wrong with a girl who is able to get pregnant at eleven. Most girls have their periods by that age; I did, in this day and age, in the westernized society we live in, a huge stigma has become attached to it. But really, girls get their periods that young so that they have more time to reproduce. That's what a species is wired to do: reproduce. In the society we live in, people aren't accustomed to such a young girl having a baby. But that's how it was for thousands of years. And yes, it is a financial burden to have a baby, so she would most likely not be FINANCIALLY ready, but otherwise, she would be ready.
Of course its normal, when humans were dying at 16 they needed their offspring to be old enough to take care of itself.
Absolutely not! Kids shouldn't be having kids.
Hell i'm against anyone under the age of 19 having kids.
teenagers nowadays just dont get that though, they all act oh-so-proud to have a baby kicking in their stomach when they're 15-16, it's sick.
in some countries it is normal.
but not so often unless the girl is a whore in most countries today.
Does it happen? Yes. The youngest person to become pregnant was Lina Medina, who was 7.

Is it normal? No way.
No, it's not, and I don't even recommend them to go through the pregnancy and keep them. I do understand in other countries that have NO laws to protect women and children, and a lot of them can't get abortions to even save their lives.
No, it definitely is not normal. But that doesn't mean it doesn't happen. I personally know a girl who got pregnant at 11. Just a extremely sad situation to be in at that age in general.
