Is it normal that all my friends are jealous and resenftul towards me?
Before anyone blames me for being arrogant, please read the whole story first.
I am a 25 year old male. I come from a wealthy family, I am an average looking guy and I consider myself quite intelligent. All my siblings and cousins are "winners" (douchebags), they hang out with other wealthy and attractive people and go to bars, parties, etc. However, I am a calm and shy guy with nerdy hobbies, like videogames and animes.
I am quite geeky and my friends are all geeky as well. The difference is that most of my friends look like the kind of people that go to Star Trek conventions, their geekiness is noticeable from miles away.
I like my friends and I like all the geeky activities we usually do. We are all good friends and have a great time... however... I notice that they sometimes act quite resentful towards me. They make ill-intentioned comments about my appearance or my wealth. Usually, when we discuss about something and I am winning the argument, they tell me stuff like "you know nothing, you are just a spoiled pretty-boy afterall".
I doesn't matter what I do, how humble I try to be, how not-vain I try to appear... no one from this "world" recognizes me for what I truly am: just another geek.
I know girls are usually like this... but I think this is the only situation I have seen where guys act like this... So... is this common?
