Is it normal that a video game has greatly affected my feelings?

I recently played a video game(Mass Effect 3) which has a lot of emotional scenes. These scenes affected me so deeply that I can't hold back my tears even when I just think about them. Now that I finished the storyline of the game, I feel very sad and empty, like if I was really part of that universe, and I lost all my friends and my love.

Of course I have cried because of movies and other games before this, but none of them affected me this much.

I feel sad, empty, physically weak, dejected, I don't have appetite, and I don't feel like talking to anyone.
I think I'm not going to feel better anytime soon.

  • Normal. Anything can trigger a memory or some emotion.

Yep this happens. I've had it with books and movies so what's wrong with feeling this way whilst playing a game?

Personally I just cry when I forget to eat my burgers.

I think a video game is much more emotionally intensive then a movie. Because you're more personally involved. So it's very understandable.

I felt sad for days after "Half-Life 2 - Episode 2". But I was also younger back then.

    Haha....

Season of Sakura did that for me.

An very very old eroge game with almost no erotic content, but lots of text.
I think it's normal to be affected if something rubs you in the right spots...

It's just fiction, hold onto reality.
