I'm currently attending a university. I've never seen a normal person. Either they are total geek (or) star wannabe (or) sociopaths! Just wondering that can a person be both smart and stupid simultaneously!
now a days people who are total freaks and stupid are considered smart as they act differently and do what others social conscious people wont.....(that's what i can relate to the connection b/w smarts and stupid people of today)
but i don't understand what the hell is so interesting in those activities....? many people laugh at them but when its time to judge ,these are the ones praised and liked....giving them more confidence for their freaky activities....
more over some people who are present minded and answer to some question very fast are also considered smart not thinking how foolish a times there answers are...
it's very possible. Psychology is just now discovering the slight differences between Intelligence, Wisdom, and Smarts.
The kind of Person you're refering to would be a "silly clever".
Maybe these people you speak of really aren't what you think they are. There's many sides to a person, and sometimes the best of us is hiding or just not readily visible to an outsider who isn't looking close enough. I think you should get to know them better, and maybe you'll see that they aren't so bad after all.

We all are you idiot :P i mean it serious its only the subject we are talking about that matters in some cases i may be called a genius while in others i might be called a 3 year old child...
Yeah, one of my ex-girlfriends was academically brilliant. She had her masters in psychology, scored a 30 on her ACT, and damn near had the DSM IV memorized. But she'd panic if i told her to make a left hand turn( didn't know left from right) and was sadly gullible.
