Is it normal that a guy ignores you.

Ok so there's this guy in my class that I have a crush on. He's really cute and really nice nd smart! Hes like my cup of tea.. Only problem? He freaking avoids me. And really strange thing is that he is the class clown so it really isn't like he's shy and he doesnt have a problem with anyone in the class but me.. Strange though because I havent even said or done a thing with him and he's like avoiding me. And wen I have sat next to him and talked to him before he wouldn't even look at me wen I talk to him! He'd just look at the side and answer me in like the same tone to end the convo. Idk wats going on because I can't be friends with him if he's too shy to talk to me and I can't like him because it's a total turn off wen a guy is that shy! And in class we'll keep looking at each other like giving glances and if I look at him and he's looking at me he'll look away quickly and Vice versa. Ughh! Its so frustrating! IIN? And wat should I do?!!

Either he really lies you, or he really doesn't. Ask him out for a burger/ice-cream/walk and find out.

Everyone looks away quickly if their eyes lock, it usually doesn't mean anything.
What imnd80 said sums it up pretty nicely though.

I remember I had a guy like that in one of my classes. He would do pretty much everything you just said. No doubt about it, he probably likes you.

Class clown doesn't mean he's not shy around a woman he likes. Chances are he would become comfortable with you in time but you might not be willing to put in the work.
