I am a proud father of two daughters. One daughter is 16 and the other is 14. My 14 year daughter gets scared from anything. So sometimes she convinces my wife to trade beds with her for the night. Something similar happened to my 16 year old when she was younger too. Are my girls normal?
A boy at age 14 should by now have had the talk about being a man?!?!? WTF. It's fine, it's a bit older than the average but it really doesn't matter. Just talk to her about her fears and help her through it. Forget what the first person said
I think that this Behavior should have been stopped years ago, it's okay to give comfort to your child no matter what age they happen to be, however, I do believe that it is Important to find out why your child is so scared at 14. my Advice would be a trip to see the DR. is in order.
It's you that needs to break the umbilical cord. I find it kind of cute that a little girl feels safe with daddy and all but she is old enough to learn and deal with her fears. A boy would have had the talk about needing to learn and be a man by now I hope.
Heck, people start teaching their child to sleep alone at 5ish and stuff. 14 is almost 10 years late.
