Is it normal tatoo is adults only but piercings are not?

Yes I know it is not the exact same thing. Though many people who get piercings are attracted to tattoos. What makes tattoos so bad that you have to wait till 18 but a piercing you can get at 3 if you wanted? Thats like saying you can smoke at 12 but cant drink till an adult. I understand drinking is 21 in some places because of the driving issue. I don't understand the age laws on piercings and tattoos though. I mean technically they are both body modifications right?

Piercings can grow back. Tatoos are much more difficult (and costly) to remove.

      This.
I can only fathom how many parents would trip shit on a tattoo artist if their rebellious little snowflake gets a tat they don't approve of. There are too many potential issues that can arise from putting something permanent on a minor.

Where I live you can't get pierced without permission if you are under 18.

Because if a kid was to have a tatoo they would scratch the mother fucker like there was no tomorrow cause an infection and scratch that mother fucker twice as hard.
