Is it normal strong against weak

We live in a world where those with certain attributes of strength are discouraged from using that attribute. Usually physical strength. Men are discouraged from being violent to women, the able-bodied are discouraged from abusing the disabled, adults are discouraged from beating children. I support all this and think it is right.

Are we right to allow those with other strengths the free rein to use their strengths without censure? Women have skills that men do not and nobody suggests it is unfair or unjust to use them for advantage. It is part of life, as male physical domination once was.

Should women be legally required to not cause harm to men? I fully expect outrage at this strange argument but think hard before you answer.

"Should women be legally required to not cause harm to men?" They are. If you are talking about physically hurting them.

    • It was more with respect to the second paragraph of my post which wasn't about the physical. None of my post was about physically hurting people.

You can use your physical strength, but only for productive means. Not for beating people up.

Are you suggesting to outlaw things like charm, sex appeal and lying? That's funny.

"Should women be legally required to not cause harm to men?"

NO gender should harm the other. regardless of your view on strength.

except of course in the case of self defense. you have the right to defend yourself from harm. even if you offend someone in doing so

As for "strength" - you are only looking at one kind of strength.
To me REAL strength isn't in how well you overpower someone else - but instead in how well you can fight yourself.

Whether or not your particular jurisdiction of law enforcement cares, assault and battery is illegal no matter who does what to who, assuming that the victimizing party is of legal age of accountability in your state.

As far as the issue of physical strength goes, strength and harming others go hand in hand. What right do we have to harm the disabled? Am I God, do I somehow have the almighty ability to decide who does and does not deserve to live peacefully? No. Anyone who harms the weak for the sake of harming the weak is an asshole. Anyone who harms anyone for the sake of harming anyone is an asshole.

It's not about strength. Hell, strength is a very important attribute in society. But we can't just walk around beating the weak relentlessly because our physical strength is the only thing that matters and we are somehow superior to them because of it. If physical strength is all that matters, then people like Einstein (and DEFINITELY Hawking) or many other of the great geniuses of the world would have been killed long before they could have contributed to society.

The bottom line is, we live in a society. We have to obey certain rules so we can all survive. If you don't like it, then move to Africa and see how well your theory pans out. Come back and tell us when you're finished.

I don't expect to hear back from you.

Nobody should use their atributes for harm. Physical strength is only frowned upon when used for harm. It's generally the weak who try to cause harm, though, as they are usually trying to prove their 'strength' by showing the strong 'who's boss', most times resulting in failure. Ironic, really. The weak show their 'strength' by showing their weakness.

yeh i understand what you mean, but the two 'actions' you're talking about are completely different, violence is illegal for men AND women.....but you're free as a man to be as manipulative and bitchy as some women are, women are just accomplished at it so men think the only thing they can do is use their physical strength or intimidation. Either way just cus you make something legal or illegal doesn't mean its going to stop people, as you (OP) said it's discouraged for men to overuse their physical strength on those weaker than them, doesn't stop some of em. Woman just don't get how their emotionally inflicted pain can be just as bad, legal or not. plenty of times i would have rather had someone break my arm than fuck up my head.

It's a double standard, unfortunately. I do think women should be treated like men. I'm sick and tired and society making it look like it's okay for women to abuse men. It's not right for abuse vice-versa either. Both sexes should be treated the same.

"women have skills that men do not"

I'm a little confused by this, OP. What skills do women have that men don't?

The ability to: give birth, menstrual cycle and PMS.

Those aren't skills, they're just aspects of womanhood.

Even if they were skills though how would a woman use PMS, Menstraul Cycle, or Birth to their advantage?

I know that they aren't skills, but they're aspects that only females have.

Perhaps in a alternate realm, women can use them like superpowers.

When it comes to "skills" wouldn't both sexes rank as equal?

Equal? Yes of course. I'm still wondering what skills the OP imagined women had that men didn't =\

            Comment Hidden ( show )
      • I wouldn't call those skills, also the give birth thing can only happen if a male is involved beforehand.

I know, but they're functions that only females have.

          • Exactly. They aren't things that could be learned. If they were, I am sure males would learn it.

To answer your reply to Nobleserpent; no, it wouldn't rank both sexes equal. Males have stronger bodies, and they're faster. So skills that require strength and speed, males obviously do better. This isn't to say that women aren't strong or fast, just that men are stronger and faster

Women are more emotionaland more caring, so they are more likely to look after children than men. That's not to say men can't look after children or be emotional, it just means women are better at being emotional and caring.

Men need to report females for assault more, so as to have them arrested.

Certainly it's supposed to be serious if you're going to call the cops and not something that hasn't caused you any serious injury. Plus you hit her back - so she got her just desserts.

The only men I can't understand are those who keep going back for more of the same treatment from the same woman - thinking they can 'cure' her of her temper / nastiness!

            • Well they are usually the same type of person as the battered woman. Weak in temperament, and afraid of being alone. And your right about that, there is no cure. Im the type who gets a rise out of confrontation, and i'll never change. Much like bullies are always bullies for life. It's a personality disorder really, and unlike mental disorders can't be fixed. A bad seed knows full well he/she is one, they just don't give a damn.
