Is it normal something bad always happens when i travel?

I am beginning to notice this very strange pattern, whenever I travel somewhere I always get sick or hurt myself somehow. When I was 10 I went to Vietnam and almost died, like i was foaming at the mouth. Then 3 years later I went to china and tripped on some boxes and the next morning I was back at the hotel nursing my sprained ankle. Then 2 more years later I went to Vancouver and accidentally smashed my face against the bed frame so I had to enjoy Vancouver with people laughing at the black bruise on my face. 4 years later I went back to vietnam and got really bad food poisoning and spent 4 days in a hospital. Then just last week I went to Edmonton and got food poisoning once again, It reminds me of Final Destination and its really weird. IIN??

To be honest bruising your face doesn't seem nearly as bad as almost dying.

I mean foaming at the mouth and food poisoning are bad. But a bruise... not so much.

You might want to consider that you may now be in the habit of looking for bad things to happen. So when something bad happens - even if it's minor - you might declare it "the bad thing that happened!" in order to support your theory.

Have you considered thinking about the GOOD things that happened? It might change your perspective

Same with me! Before I go on trips, I'll usually get sick or become sick while I'm on the trip. Once when went to NYC about two years ago, I had a cold before going and for the rest of the trip I had weird allergies. I went to Europe nearly a year ago and I had a bad feeling. I ended up becoming extremely sick with intense schizophrenic symptoms! The some of the hallucinations were extremely disturbing O.o while some weren't so bad. When the first range of symptoms hit, I went to The hospital and they found nothing. Then they intensified and NO ONE would take me to the hospital!!! I thought I was going to die.
No more travel for me unless I can help it.

Vietnam (for the most part) sucks.
China isn't exactly world reknown for it's safety standards, and I don't know about Vancouver, sounds like you might be clumsy, but I heard that they have great beer so that might have had something to do with it.

Wow, what were the chances?! Anyway sorry to hear about all the bad things that happened to you. I agree with the other 2 comments, either it's just coincidence or you need to be more careful.

That is really strange, not normal.

Just be more careful and cautious I guess. Not sure what other advice to give you.

I personally wouldn't know. Maybe try to be more careful when you travel though?
