I smell the food always, before eat it or even just to know how it taste...people thinks is weird and tell me not to do it... but I don't eat anything if I haven't smelled it before.

    I tend to smell it when I'm cooking it...

    I don't usually try to savor my food, most of the time I try to just get it over with or not even think much about it.

    I LOVE the aroma of good-tasting food! However, I could imagine that if you are smelling it in a way that might be misconstrued as "criticizing," that would be offensive. Might that be what is happening here?

      no...I smell everything...I do this without notice...until someone says to me don't do that!
      I mean... I'm making me a sandwich and I smell the things I'm going to put in it...

    you are actually safer if you smell at the food b4 u eat it .. what if its a bad .. yeah , whatever MILK, if u smell first, u can see if its drinkable

      I always smell the milk or juice cartons. To me the milk always smells strange...

    Why do they get mad? I mean scent is a major component of fine cuisine.

      I don't know... they are just like "OMG don't smell it! just go and eat it ..." .___. and they find this unpleasant, well someones says that.

        Tell them you're savoring the fine food they made for you and that you want to fully appreciate it.

        Then act like they aren't talking when they complain.

        If they get mad about it.... it's their own problem.
