PLEASE HELP THIS IS A VERY DARK SECRET of mine I need to know if theres others in the same situation. When I was young somewhere before 10 an older sister sexually touched me. She talked me into going into my closet when the room was empty and performed oral sex on me. And now I feel a sense of shame and I have SERIOUS problems with dating because I think I have a fear of intimacy or being close with someone.is it normal I'm like this now?? And are you a victim thats like this?

    It's normal, childhood sexual assault can cause a whole slew of different kinds of problems. While I haven't had *too* much trouble in relationships after my bad experiences, I'm always rather wary of men who are interested in me at first. Simply that interest and pursual makes me very nervous.

    More so, go figure, I've fallen into the stereotype. I don't go out alone very often, never to the city or a rave or anywhere there will be drinking, I am very paranoid about my consumption at these events. I bristle when people touch me, I don't like to walk in the woods alone anymore. It's like, even though I know stranger rape is rare, I'm just guarded constantly now.

    There really isn't a wrong way to respond to these things, because that sort of response is so personal, based on the event, your perceptions and your experience in life which makes you who you are. The only thing you can do is seek help and learn to let go... you have nothing to feel ashamed or guilty about, you were victimized, but if we are to become more than victims we have to overcome our past.

    It's not your fault in any way shape or form. Everyone says it, but it's one of the hardest things to believe. I hope you can find healing.

    If you're female, it's normal. Males however do not usually carry scars like this due to sexual contact with older women. In fact if I had a sister that did that it might just be my fondest memory of her.

            I really don't see how it can be possible for YOU to say that I"M way off base. I said I would like it, I never said YOU OR THIS OTHER CAT would like it. If it fucked him up, then I guess he didn't dig it. If you woulda been fucked up, then you must be like him.
