Maybe she was joking :P Even if she wasn't, while I think it's a bit unusual to be that old and not know that a slug is a different animal to a snail sometimes that sort of information goes over peoples' heads. I didn't know what lockjaw was until yesterday, and I remember when I used to think walnut furniture was made of actual nuts, not the wood from the walnut tree. Sometimes people just don't know stuff.
Maybe someone told her that's what a slug was when she was a kid, and she kept on believing it. It's not that farfetched, really.
Well, at least they are both mollusks. It's much worse imo when people think of slugs/snails/leeches etc. as insects.
Cute, your wife sounds like a sweet person. I had braced myself for another post about a über stupid squeamish person and this was a happy surprise! Tell her to keep up the cuteness!
I'd find it cute... if she was 6 years old.
As it is, it makes me cringe.
Odd but as a kid I thought the same way. That is until I was informed otherwise.
